rooms & spa » The Digs
Pop on that brown fedora, don that distressed leather bomber jacket, put that bull whip in your hand and enter the world of The Archaeologist’s Digs. Inspired by treasures we purchased at the estate auction of a legendary Roxbury citizen, “The Digs” is the ultimate Roxbury Motel suite experience. Its own stand-alone cottage with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living and bar area, full gourmet kitchen, outdoor shower, large outdoor deck with two dining tables, hidden treasures and maps, secret passageways, fulfilled prophecies, Gods, libraries, idols, reptile skins, surround-sound television, ancient curses, leather, hieroglyphics, bull whips, solid gold, fire features, Mayans, Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Micronesians, Indians, Romans, Spartans, Arabians, Aztecs, Siamese, Trojans, Crusaders, kings, queens, torches, babbling brooks, relics, and the ability to take a shower next to saltwater fish that are protecting Cleopatra’s long lost underwater tomb (yes, we just said Cleopatra and underwater tomb in the same sentence). That is all The Digs and there is still so much more...

Filmed for television by The Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet network, The Digs is perfect for a group of six (two of The Digs bedrooms have king size beds) and the third bedroom (the “Mayan Temple bedroom”), has an extra-long full size Murphy bed that pulls out of the wall. The Mayan Temple bedroom is about the experience, not the size, so if you need to stretch out this is not the bedroom in The Digs for you (but if you’re into fantasy, then this room is its own Fantasy Island, baby). The fourth bed is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. To round out the luxury, all Digs guests receive complimentary spa passes for their entire stay. And as much as we love ‘em, kids 12 and under are not allowed in The Digs.

Technicolor Sinbad the Sailor movies meets Spielberg and Lucas iconography meets Romancing the Stone meets The Goonies meets The Mummy meets Cleopatra meets our own take on all of our favorite adventurer movies meets a functionally elegant hotel suite. Share the fantasy with friends and family. We hope you'll dig The Digs!
