 In my former days of attending board meetings on a regular basis, in order to stay awake sometimes I would pinch my legs under the table so hard that the next day there would be bruises all over my thighs. We don't want you to have bruised thighs. They're not pretty. So we designed a conference room that is so loud you can't help but stay awake! It seats 8-12. Sixteen if you really cram everyone together. There's a 50inch Flat Screen TV on one wall for audio-visuals and speakerphone and other data connections available.You can't have a productive meeting without good munchies, so we added a circular counter area at the end of the room for drinks and snackiepoos. In the pages that follow, we give you a sampling of other venues around Roxbury which can host meeting groups up to 100 or more. Your group can stay at The Roxbury, use our conference room for a break-out session or for your VIP's, and then have larger meetings closeby at other cool venues. We've also included some photos of some cool places to have your wedding. Have the ceremony thing up on top of a mountain or by a babbling brook and then come spend the night at The Roxbury!<a target='_new' class='external' href='http://www.plattekill.com/'>Plattekill Ski Mountain</a> offers meeting groups the best of both worlds. Work AND Play. Host your large or small meeting group in their grand lodge and then spend the rest of the day or night skiing, boarding, tubing, or in the summer - mountain biking. In addition to a commercial catering kitchen, the space also has a stage with full lighting and sound equipment. Talent show anyone?<a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://durr.org/'>The Delaware Ulster Railroad</a> is a supercool way to host a meeting or have a rehearsal dinner or birthday party or yadda yadda yadda. They have a fully-equipped old-fashioned dining car that is loads of fun and the historic Roxbury Train Depot is just down the block so your group can walk to the train. It is also a very scenic ride. All aboard!Originally the old Masonic Lodge, but now home to Roxbury’s <a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Roxbury-NY/WIOX-913-FM/134889326543825'> very own radio station</a>, this building is literally right next door to The Roxbury. The first floor of the building has a beautiful space that can accommodate a large meeting group and all ya gotta do to get there is cross the bridge!<a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://www.stonetavernfarm.com/'> Stone Tavern Farm</a> is about 7 minutes up the mountain from us and it boasts some of the best mountain vistas in the area. Many a happy bride and groom have hosted their wedding atop this idyllic spot. They also offer horseback riding and ATV rides - but not during your wedding, of course.<a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://www.theinnatwestsettlement.com/'> The Inn at West Settlement</a> is just 5 minutes up the road from us and it is just downright purty. Host your wedding or plan a large meeting in their barn and stay at The Roxbury and you'll be a little bit country AND a little bit rock-n-roll.Roxbury’s <a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/Roxbury-NY/Roxbury-NY/134176399929769?v=photos '> Kirkside Park</a> is the epitome of the word tranquil. Imagine beautiful bridges crossing babbling brooks set against a backdrop of the Catskill Mountains surrounding you. This is where the town shoots off fireworks during holidays. Why not let your own fireworks begin here?<a target='_new' class='external' href=' http://www.shephardhills.com/'> Shephard Hills Golf Course</a> is also just up the road from The Roxbury. After your meeting group breaks for the day you can play a few holes here or why not forget about the meeting and just stay here all day? It is a great place for weddings and events as well. All those greens look nice and, well, GREEN in photos!
